Personal Leadership Commitments
Guess what! Its time for your first non-blogging assignment.
On November 9th, your Personal Leadership Commitments are due. These reflection papers – unlike your blogs – should follow standard paper writing formats; however, we of course still value creativity and out-side-of-the-box thinking.
The paper should address the following questions:
- What is your own personal leadership philosophy?
- How does the Social Model influence your own personal leadership philosophy?
- Taking into consideration your answers to the above two questions, what are two specific action items you will commit yourself to achieving within your sorority/fraternity community during the rest of this academic year?
So thats what your paper is going to be about. Make sure you answer each question completely! Now, since this is a formal paper, we are inclined to give you some specific additional requirements that you would see in other class (ie: number of citations, etc). However, since we promised this course would be different, fun, and non-traditional, we want to stay away from that. Therefore, we won’t list specific requirements, as long as you all promise to use your best judgment when it comes to citing the text book and using the themes from the book (hint: that means we are looking for some inclusion of the text). So, how many pages should it be, you ask. Thanks for asking. Well, we aren’t going to answer that. So once again, use your best judgment. But this is a formal, college paper. As long as you answer each question completely, you’ll be good.
Now, how will you be graded?
- Grammar, punctuation, clarity, etc – 10 points
- Completeness and thoughtfulness of your answer to question #1 – 5 points
- Completeness and thoughtfulness of your answer to question #2 – 5 points
- Completeness and thoughtfulness of your answer to question #3 – 5 points
- Appropriate use of the Social Change Model – 5 points
Oh, but since we value creativity, we’ll give up to 5 bonus points if we see any awesome creativity.
So go ahead and get started. But don’t forget to blog while you’re at it!
